Friday Five 20030815

It's Friday.

  1. How much time do you spend online each day?
About 3 hours on weekdays. When I'm in home on weekends, lots, quite plenty of time.

  2. What is your browser homepage set to?
I haven't set up homepage at all. So it's a blank now.

  3. Do you use any instant messaging programs? If so, which one(s)?
I've never used any IMs. But I'd like to use one.

  4. Where was your first webpage located?
It was in an internet solution company in Japan. I think it was built 8 years ago(the age of "Mosaic") but I didn't maintain frequently. And now it is in ruins.

  5. How long have you had your current website?
I've had this one for about 3 years. But only one month has passed since I renewed this site.

It's Friday.

  1. What's the last place you traveled to, outside your own home state/country?
I visited Denmark, Czech, Germany and Iceland in December 2001.

  2. What's the most bizarre/unusual thing that's ever happened to you while traveling?
A crazy new year's fireworks in Reykjavik, Iceland.

It's common that ordinary people not professional set off large scale of it. That's quite dangerous and far from it, they are so excited that they set off it to all directions. There were not a few times it came to near my feet. And I heard sirens of ambulances. Really crazy.

  3. If you could take off to anywhere, money and time being no object, where would you go?
    The Moon.
But in this globe, I'd like to go to Czech again. That's a really wonderful place.

  4. Do you prefer traveling by plane, train or car?
I might be a jet junky. I like atmosphere in airport.

I have one more reason. Because of my work, it's difficult to take long holidays. I'd like to spend my time for my experiences in each destination. Of course I know a pleasure of a travel by train or car, but it takes much time compared with plane.

  5. What's the next place on your list to visit?
I'm going to visit New York to see a concert of bjö
    rk and Sigur Rós.

I usually wake up at 8:30.

  2. Do you sleep in on the weekends? How late?
No, it is about the same time regardless of weekdays or weekends.

  3. Aside from waking up, what is the first thing you do in the morning?
    Turning on my computer.

  4. How long does it take to get ready for your day?
If I don’t have tousled hair with sleep, it takes less 10 minutes only. But if I have, I need to wash my hair so 30 minutes or so is needed.

  5. When possible, what is your favorite place to go for breakfast?
I apologize I don’t have the habit of eating breakfast. But no place is better than home I guess.

It's Friday.

  1. If your life were a movie, what would the title be?
I've never turned such a thought over in my mind, but..

    Escape from fetters.

  2. What songs would be on the soundtrack?
A considerable amount of Sigur Rós.

  3. Would it be a live-action film or animated? Why?
Animation is suitable for this film. Because fetters are not always real people or objects.

  4. Casting: who would play you, members of your family, friends, etc?
I don't want to feel any reality of my life from this, so professional voice actors/actresses are prefer, not myself and my family, friends themselves.

  5. Describe the movie preview/trailer.
What you see is not what you see.

It's Friday.

  1. Do you remember your first best friend? Who was it?
    I don't remember clearly.

  2. Are you still in touch with this person?
    No, not at all.

  3. Do you have a current close friend?
    No, I don't.
I guess there is hardly any person called "friend".

  4. How did you become friends with this person?
    -----

  5. Is there a friend from your past that you wish you were still in contact with? Why?
    There isn't any friend basically.

But I want to know the life of the man I mentioned in Q1. I'm interested in an influence about same birthday. Does any relevance exist or not between he and me?

It's Friday.

  1. What were your favorite childhood stories?
    "Chcolate War" "Guri & Gura"

  2. What books from your childhood would you like to share with [your] children?
    Jules Verne's novels.

I'd like to want them to know this world is not only what they see.

  3. Have you re-read any of those childhood stories and been surprised by anything?
2 months ago, I read "Voyage Au Centre De La Terre " wrtten by Jules Verne after an interval of nearly 15 years. I've remembered the main field of this story was Iceland, but I was greatly surprised at the severe description about its life. I didn't care about it at all when I read before. But now I have an interest in Iceland so I noticed. I guess it might be included a kind of malicious.

  4. How old were you when you first learned to read?
    3 or 4? I don't remember well.

  5. Do you remember the first 'grown-up' book you read? How old were you?
In my junior high school days, I was so interested in music that I tried to read some musical theory books.
As you imagine, I didn't understand at all.

It's Friday.

  1. How are you planning to spend the summer [winter]?
I absolutely hate the summer of Japan. High temperature and high humidity are getting worse year by year.
I want to shut me up in my room all the summer therefore.

  2. What was your first summer job?
I've never done summer limited job.

  3. If you could go anywhere this summer [winter], where would you go?
I want to visit Iceland again in summer.

I've been to there 2 times, summer and winter. Compared with the Japanese summer, the Icelandic one is absolutely fabulous. It is no doubt I'm in Heaven.

  4. What was your worst vacation ever?
I think vacation is always good for me.

  5. What was your best vacation ever?
It was the experience that I visited several cities in Europe over 1 month from the end of 2001 to the beginning of 2002.
I went and saw some Christmas Markets in Prague, Nuernberg and Frankfult. I saw concerts of bj&rk and the New year's fireworks in Reykjav&k.

I'd made my hair bold untill 13 years old.

  3. How do your normally wear your hair?
    I don't care about it.

The things to do for my hair are only a shampoo and dry. I don't use any kind of hairdressing product.
